Au Revoir Annecy!

Donald and René kept the momentum going at the 42nd Annual Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France! The festival was originally created in 1960 and takes place in the beginning of June in the town of Annecy, France. It used to occur every two years, but in 1998 it became annual.
The festival is one of the four international animated film festivals sponsored by the Association Internationale du Film d’Animation (ASIFA) and is a big deal in our industry. There is a competition held between cartoon films using various techniques (animated drawing, cut out papers, clay models, etc) which are then classified in various categories: feature films, short films, films produced for television or advertising, and student films.
They also attended Mifa, the animation industry's foremost showcase in terms of co-producing, purchasing, selling, financing and distributing animation content for all broadcasting platforms from June 12-15th.
They had a great time meeting with old friends and collaborators, and networking with new friends and potential partners.
It was great seeing Jean Thoren from Animation Magazine.
